Membership Guidelines
Herpes can be
emotionally difficult. Some people avoid socializing or dating for many
years because of herpes. This is not necessary. We are a fun loving,
group of people from all walks of life, who have healthy attitudes about
dealing with herpes. Not only will you find that this is the best
medicine on the market, you'll have a good time taking it!
Portland Area
Friends takes no responsibility for relationships developed through
participation in the group. We are not a dating service.
Membership is
FREE at this point in time. In the future if the expenses get to be too
much, then we might impose a membership fee.
Members must be
18 years of age or older, single or married and share our
"challenge".
A member can not
be excluded from the group (except for illegal activity) because of
race, religion or sexual gender. To exclude a current member, input from
the general membership is required. Any illegal activity at an official
Portland Area Friends function is cause for immediate dismissal, and
that person will not be able to attend any further functions.
Any acts of
violence or harassment towards a member, prospective member, or a
member's guest at a Portland Area Friends sanctioned event will result
in the immediate expulsion of the members involved.
Inappropriate
behavior, including but not limited to; lewd conduct, public
intoxication and indecent exposure will result in the
suspension or permanent removal from the group.
Guests may be
invited to events, but must be informed of what the group is about by
the group member. Open discussion of our association is
discouraged at any social event. However, if a new member should raise
the subject, it is asked that the conversation, be kept private and
discreet.
Access to any
members, name, address, email address, and phone number is limited to
the social coordinator only.
